"YOUR POSTURE OF VICTORY"
How do you act when you win? Whether it is in athletics, a contest, or just overcoming a particular problem in life, it is good to have won, right? The pressure is off, the battle is over, everything that you have worked for is completed. What a wonderful feeling. Everyone likes to win and many times there is a prize to obtain or a reward to be gained by pressing forward and accomplishing your goals. What makes a winner? A winner is in it to win! Winning involves attitude, commitment, training, diligence, and a heart ot win. As a born-again believer, to win is to overcome the world by living a victorious life in Christ. How? By getting to know His thoughts and plans for living this incredible life of faith in Jesus.
John 5:4 states: "For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith." Our posture for victory must be by our faith in Him and faith in the Word of God as the standard upon which we base our entire life. To experience the overcoming lifestyle, the word of God must become the standard of Truth in every area of life. The eternal word of God will bring life into every situation and circumstance, if you allow it to become more than just words written in a book. If you will receive the word as His divine promise to you, that promise becomes personal to you from the Creator of all life.
What should be our posture, concerning our attitude, as we live this overcoming life of faith? It should be one of love, joy and peace, as we rely and trust that God's word is true. As we believe and confess His word over our lives, then we will gain the victory, personally for ourselves, that Jesus already has gained for us. Our attitude is also free from striving, because Jesus has already stripped and defeated satan according to Col. 2:15. In Matt. 16:18, the Lord has given the Body of Christ, the church, His power and authority over all evil. Therefore, in order to overcome the powers of the enemy and gain victory, we must first know what His word declares. This is where our spiritual training, commitment and diligence comes in. By allowing the Holy Spirit access, He will teach us and show us things to come. Maturity doesn't come over night and it comes not without a price. Yes, Jesus paid the price but, our job is to line ourselves up with His way of doing things. This includes changing our thought life, which will change the way we act.
Phil.3:13-15 says: "Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if any of you think otherwise, God will reveal this to you." If you want to have victory, go to the Word of God and He will show you how. God has the strategy for victory for your life. It only takes a little bit of faith, the size of a mustard seed to win!
